The position

The Trainee Solar  Water Pump System Engineer reports to the Head Solar Water Pumping and works closely with our sales and technical teams. As a System Designer you will be expected to design solar water pumping systems for our clients, both DC and AC coupled. Training is available for the right person if needed. It is expected that you will first focus on the design of solar water pumping and subsequently go into power systems, generator and solar water heating system design.

Requirements

Power Providers is looking for a Trainee Solar Water Pump System Engineer with the following qualifications:

  • At least a Bachelor of Water Engineering, Hydrology and or  Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar with good grades
  • Between 2 and 3 years work experience
  • An expressed interest and preferably experience in at least 1 of the following fields
    • Water pumping design and implementation
    • Solar power systems
  • Experience with solar design software an advantage
  • Ability to apply concentrated and precise focus to your work 
  • Excellent computer skills including a good knowledge of and skills in Microsoft Excel / Microsoft Word, AUTOCAD
  • Good spoken and written English
